Took a different approach to tonight's painting. Yesterday's mountain scene wasn't very complex, so it was easy to simply and add some artistic effect by using various hues and values to suggest changes in terrain. This painting had a much more complicated background and was beyond my artistic ability to simplify so the effect is much more realistic. However, what I am very please about in tonight's painting is that the knife allowed me to achieve some good color depth painting wet on wet, and the knife strokes give an extra dimensional feel.
